Studierendenwerk Erlangen-Nürnberg offers free legal advice for students. The service provides practical support in matters relating to university law, employment law, contract law and tenancy law, as well as in all other legal difficulties connected with the student situation**

Legal advice is conveniently available online every Monday and Thursday:

Please note

As this is individual counselling, waiting times may occur. Please simply remain in the waiting room; you will then be invited into the conversation. If an appointment is too busy, please try again at the next appointment. In principle, counselling in English is also possible; however, documents cannot be translated. The language of the counselling room corresponds to your browser language.

Tips for preparing for your online consultation
  • Please make sure you have a stable internet connection.
  • Have relevant documents ready digitally as PDF or JPEG files, for example photographed documents.
  • Write down the most important questions in advance.
  • Summarise your concern as briefly as possible.
  • If possible, use a laptop or PC instead of a smartphone.
  • Test your camera, microphone and speakers in advance.
  • Ideally, use headphones or a headset.
  • Find a quiet place where you can speak without being disturbed.
  • Make sure your device is sufficiently charged or connected to a power supply.
  • If technical problems occur, first try reloading the page.
  • Please only join the consultation once, not multiple times in different browser tabs.
  • If possible, use an up-to-date browser, such as Firefox, Chrome or Edge.
