Day care centers of the Studierendenwerk
The Studierendenwerk operates two childcare centers in Erlangen and Nuremberg for children aged one to three years. Priority admission is given to children of student parents. Childcare places for students' children are offered by the Studierendenwerk Erlangen-Nürnberg at highly affordable rates.
To qualify for the subsidized rates, at least one parent must be enrolled at a state or state-recognized university in Bavaria and must have paid the Studierendenwerk contribution fee.
Erlangen
The Hofmannstraße childcare center of the Studierendenwerk Erlangen-Nürnberg is located in the heart of Erlangen and is easily accessible by public transport. The center is housed in a single-story modern building at Hofmannstraße 23, 91052 Erlangen, and consists of three group units accommodating a total of 36 children (ages 1–3).
At our Hofmannstraße childcare center, we focus on the strengths of the children and build upon them. This allows us to identify and nurture individual preferences, abilities, and skills, even at this early age. Through the age and gender diversity within our groups, children naturally gain experiences essential for their identity development.
Priority admission is given to children of students, who also benefit from highly affordable childcare rates.
Registration is exclusively through the Kitafinder portal: https://kitafinder.erlangen.de/

Nuremberg
The KiKriKi childcare centre run by the Studierendenwerk Erlangen-Nürnberg is located in the St. Peter district of Nuremberg and is very easy to reach by public transport.
Our small family-run centre offers space for a maximum of 8 children aged 1 - 3 years. The premises are located on the ground floor of Nuremberg's St. Peter student hall of residence at Walter-Meckauer-Straße 22 in a quiet inner courtyard.
Children, parents and educational staff should feel at home in the childcare centre. A loving and respectful co-operation is the basis for this. TRUST is very important to us. We do not encourage children, but support them in making their own experiences and learning from them.
Children of students are given priority and are accepted on very favourable terms.
